Network Meeting on EU-China Higher Education Cooperation and University Academic Leadership successfully took place in Helsinki on 27 September 2019

The Network meeting, bringing together Provost, Minister Councilor, Directors, Professors, and researchers from both LEAD2 partner universities and other stakeholders, was organised with the support of the LEAD2 project, and University of Helsinki. Three keynote speeches focusing on EU-China cooperation and academic leadership in HEIs were presented, following by fruitful discussion sessions. In addition, a round table session which emphasizes on EU-China Higher Education Cooperation and Network on University Academic Leadership was organised. The event was a significant step advancing the cooperation among HEIs from Europe and China. 

The LEAD2 project is a Capacity Building in Higher Education project supported by the Erasmus+ programme. The project is an important collaborative project among European and Chinese higher education institutions to exchange experiences and strengthen capacities in the governance of higher education institutions and the competences of academic leaders. The project develops MOOCs on University Governance and Academic Leadership and provides blended training for academic leaders from Europe and China. Comparative studies and online knowledge base will be important results for European and Chinese university stakeholders. 

This event is organised back to back with the EU China HEPCE meeting organised by EAC and its counterparts. The LEAD2 project has supported the organisation of the HEPCE Meeting.
